The "Sex and the City" movie won't debut until May 30, but the ladies of Manhattan have been sparking conversation on sex and feminism since the show's first season on HBO in 1998.

Whether it's the candid conversations that take place among Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, Miranda Hobbes and Samantha Jones, their sometimes over-the-top fashion statements or Carrie's epiphanies as she narrates the show, fans say each episode, during the show's six seasons, has drawn a connection between the audience and its characters.

A sea of decorated caps and black gowns packed the TD Banknorth Garden May 2 for Northeastern's undergraduate commencement ceremony. The event signified a farewell to the students' college lifestyle and the beginning of a new stage in their lives.

But college graduates may be saying 'bye' to more than just Thirsty Thursdays, fraternity parties and the occasional late-night run to Cappy's.

Baseball season.

For many Boston college students, this phrase evokes the neverending rivalry against New York Yankee fans, and late October nights anxiously watching the Red Sox in the playoffs.

But for a group of Northeastern students, the expression is an opportunity to help make Fenway "greener.

Recent announcements by several loan-granting organizations that they would require federal aid and not offer private student loans in the upcoming academic year, has made some nervous during this time of increasing economic hardship.

Jenna Quilty, a sophomore psychology and elementary education major, said the loss of private student loans could make attending college more difficult for some students.

Summer in Boston may bring to mind the Red Sox, sunning in the Common and, if the Charles River Conservancy (CRC) has anything to say about it, swimming.

The organization is working to have all Bostonians swimming in the Charles in the near future. Historically, the river was once a fun and convenient place for people to take a dip and escape the hot city weather.

It has been more than two years since the Lady Maddogs made the transition from Division II to Division I as a club sport. But despite changes along the way, one thing has remained the same: they're not afraid to get physical.

For the club women's rugby team, unlike in many women's sports, tackling and physical contact is a part of the game.

The No. 8 men's rowing team completed its regular season last weekend with a down-to-the-wire loss.

The No. 3 Harvard Crimson passed the Huskies in the last 15 feet to edge out a win in a time of 5:43.7 to Northeastern's 5:44.4.

The loss drops the rowing dogs to 3-2 on the season, an impressive mark when the team faced four teams ranked in or receiving votes in the USRowing Collegiate Top 20 poll.

It may not seem possible for Northeastern students to escape the classroom or office during the summer, but there is no need to stay in the hot city during the weekends. Boston has several beaches accessible by T, so gather some friends, throw on a bathing suit and hit the beach.
This week, the Student Activities and Leadership Office announced a slate of "Summester" activities that aim to entertain and amuse Northeastern students spending the summer in Boston.
